Mid-Year Update on Unique Fundraising Trends for 2018
As we approach the second half of the year when nonprofit activity really starts taking off, we're starting to see some strong trends toward new methods for fundraising. This blog post will talk about some of the trends you should expect to see in the coming months as demonstrated by our customers:
A Golf Tournament, Taken to the next level
This week, Salvation Army Southern of San Antonio, Texas, has set the bar high for fundraising. Salvation Army Southern raised an impressive $3,680 in one day with DipJar alone! With DipJars set at $100 and $20, they knocked it out of the park. They hosted their 12th Annual Angel Tree Golf Tournament with a few captivating fundraising techniques. For a $100 dip, they sold a "Super Ticket" which allowed players to use mulligans and take a couple putt strokes off their scorecard, a great way to incentivize the competitive rookie. They also had DipJars set at $20 around the course where they had adventures and games set up! With events like this, there is no denying that Salvation Army is thriving with the help of DipJar. This tournament is an excellent example of how to optimize donations while engaging donors!
Selling beer at children's Museums
OH WOW! Children’s Center introduced this idea at their 6th Annual Science of Brewing fundraiser where they raised $12,000 in a night. For $60 a person, ticket holders were offered an insanely fun night at an empty museum. The museum provided local beer, wine and spirit tastings, and food pairings to keep the patrons satisfied. But it didn't stop there! They had live entertainment and basket raffles to further the giving.
A walk for a cause
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosts walks for their cause every frequently every summer and fall! These community and campus walks have been a great way for people to come together and support a cause they feel connected to. The funds raised go to research, educational programs, advocacy for public policy and support of survivors of suicide loss. They walk endlessly. Hosting almost 500 community walks every fall, they've taken fundraising walks to the next level.
A WINE PULL
Water is Basic introduced us to this great fundraising idea at their Evening for Peace event. They had a DipJar set at $30 for a wine pull. The wine pull works by having a donor dip, pick a cork with a number on it, and match the cork to a bottle of wine! This creative event raised a total of $2,180 towards bringing peace to South Sudan. Water is Basic helps to bring food, water, and medicine to people in need. A great cause for a great fundraiser!
