Have a free Sunday? Nonprofits new and old can learn a thing or two from these great reads!

Example: The Non Nonprofit: For Profit Thinking for Nonprofit Success

Author: Steve Rothschild

Rothschild made the leap from leading a successful for-profit company to leading a successful nonprofit organization. The trick? He ran his nonprofit just like he ran his business! (Check out our story on Chris Stout who runs his nonprofit with the same philosophy.)

Throw on one of these podcasts on your commute to gain some nonprofit knowledge on the go.

Example: Nonprofits are Messy

This podcast allows nonprofit expert Joan Garry to dive deeper into the topics she covers on her blog. This is a must-listen for any nonprofit professional in a leadership position. If there is something in particular you’d like to hear about, fill out this form and Joan will take your suggestions into consideration!

Online Resources

From graphic design to marketing analytics, there are several (free!) sites your nonprofit can utilize.

Example: Sender Score

Sender Score helps you make sure your donation asks and event invitations aren’t landing in your supporter’s spam folder. This site helps you pinpoint what changes need to be made to have the most effective email marketing possible.

Facebook Groups

Nonprofit Facebook groups are great communities to share ideas and knowledge with your peers in the sector.

Example: Nonprofit Happy Hour

This larger, established group was founded by Vu Le of NonprofitAF. His lighthearted and comedic tone translates to this Facebook group, while continuing to be a safe space for all nonprofit professionals to share their opinions.
