In 2011 the United Nations established October 11 as International Day of the Girl Child. This day was established “to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.”
DipJar is inspired by this girl-led movement to dismantle patriarchy and fight for social justice right here in the US. We are honored by the abundance of female-centered nonprofit organizations that have made the choice to use DipJar for their fundraising purposes.
Who we work with
We have relationships with several organizations, big and small, all working hard to raise money for amazing causes:
1. Boys and Girls Clubs
We work with Boys and Girls Clubs across the country. This is an organization founded by women that helps young boys and girls reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. DipJar has helped this nonprofit raise tens of thousands of dollars!
2. Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brother Big Sister provides young girls and boys with mentors to help them navigate the challenges of childhood and reach their full potential. DipJar has helped this organization raise funds to help shape the young women and men of the future.
3. Ms. Foundation for Women
Ms. Foundation for Women is an organization that fights for the rights of women, especially women of color and those living in poverty, through advocacy for policy change.
4. Invest in Girls
Invest in Girls teaches high school aged girls about financial concepts, exposes them to professional women and introduces them to exciting new career paths; this is all done with the goal to create tomorrow’s leaders.
5. Other organizations
We hope to work with even more inspiring organizations like these in the future. The fight for gender equality is not over and we will keep working hard until there are equal opportunities for all. Happy International Day of the Girl!
